Numbers to 10: Primary 1

Numbers from 0 to 10

Numbers from 0 to 10 is the first chapter of primary 1 Singapore Maths. 

In Singapore, most students are able to count beyond 10 when they enter primary 1. Hence, the first chapter of numbers within 10 is to ease them into primary 1.

In this chapter, students learn the following concepts:

• counting from 0 to 10
• spell numbers from 0 to 10
• comparing numbers

Learn to count from 0 to 10

Students learn to count from 0 to 10 and from 10 back to 0.

Learn to spell the numbers from 0 to 10

Students should also learn how to spell the numbers within 10.

Below is the numbers in numerals and words:

0: zero

1: one

2: two

3: three

4: four

5: five

6: six

7: seven

8: eight

9: nine

10: ten

Comparing numbers

Students learn to compare whether the numbers are greater than, fewer than or the same as.
